B i o g r a p h y

Zachary James Bramble (b. 1988) is an American composer and pianist. Bramble graduated from Arizona State University, Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts – School of Music, with Honors from Barrett, The Honors College, and with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory (Composition) with a focus in Piano Performance in the spring of 2011. His teachers included Roshanne Etezady, Jody Rockmaker, Rodney Rogers, and Glenn Hackbarth. Bramble’s piano studies at both Universities were under the direction of Janice Meyer-Thompson, Ciao Pagano, Donna Miller, and Michael Dauphinais. Bramble completed his Masters of Music in Composition, with a focus in Piano Performance, and his Doctorate of Music in Composition, with a minor in Opera Performance through the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music under the directions of Daniel Asia, Kritsin Dauphinais, Cythia Stokes, Jay Rosenblatt, and Bonnie Bird in 2021. He has collaborated with students and faculty at the University of Central Florida under the direction of Pegasus Professor Stella Sung on student animation projects and continues to collaborate with musicians across the country, and internationally. His many commissions include the Samford University of Birmingham, Alabama Orchestra, the Seventh Roadrunner Ensemble, the Paradise Winds Ensemble, the Chaparral Chamber Music Group, and the West Valley Youth Orchestra. His works have been performed in the Dominican Republic, Arizona, and across the United States. Bramble currently has published works distributed through potenzamusic.com, and justforbrassmusic.com. His works have been featured on the album Agents of Espionage produced by Brian Viliunas, in promotional materials from the Arizona Opera Guild, with the Tucson Desert Song Festival, and many are distributed by JW Pepper. Bramble was among the top 10 semi-finalists in the first annual Folgers Coffee Company Jingle Contest (2010). He is currently a member of American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).  

Bramble aided Arizona State University’s All Saints Catholic Newman Center as pianist and composer, where he assisted the director in accompanying masses,  and writing and arranging liturgical music. Bramble performed with the Groove Noodles Funk Band as keyboardist while at Arizona Sate University. Bramble is currently a music educator teaching theory and composition, voice, and piano privately in Tucson, Arizona.
